This Saturday, June 1, the funeral services were held for María Paula Dulce and Luna Marcela Rodríguez, two young people who were found dead in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Jamundí, in the department of Valle del Cauca.

According to the families of the victims, who were first semester Psychology students, it is still unknown why they were in this municipality of Valle del Cauca.

In the middle of the funeral, which took place in Nariño, relatives asked the authorities to investigate this double crime.

María Paula Dulce, 21, and Luna Marcela Rodríguez, 17, were found with several gunshot wounds.

The relatives do not understand why the young women traveled from Pasto to Jamundí, where the double murder occurred.

Marcela Rodríguez, aunt of one of the young women, mentioned that “she was a dreamy girl, but also a rebel, that could easily be manipulated. This must stop, they were girls who were beginning to live, they had a lot to contribute to society. “It cannot be that they end up in criminal hands and minds.”

With a vigil outside the university where they were studying, the community condemned the atrocious crime: “Although our students were not carrying out academic activities at the universitythe Mariana University expresses its willingness to contribute to the research process developed by the competent authorities,” said Sister Liliana Isabel Díaz, rector of that educational center located in Pasto.
