Manzi. Life in Orsai” brings to the stage the myth Homero Manzi, the poet who wrote the lyrics of many of the most important tangos in the Buenos Aires songbook: “Sur”, “Malena”, “Barrio de tango” and many others.

It is through the lyrics of these tangos, of that poetic world, that the work seeks to describe the man and his time, his beginnings with Cátulo Castillo, the unbreakable friendship with Aníbal Troilo, and his relationship with the singer Nelly Omar; a forbidden, hidden, tortured love.

The plot develops from the moment Homero Manzi finds out that he has contracted cancer.

The scene is flooded with a magical evocation full of ghosts from the past.

The public will enjoy a story of passion, love, tribulations, political contradictions and truncated desires told through a musical dream world.

The cast is made up of Guillermo Frick, Luciana Tourné and Camilo Céspedes. On the piano, Facundo Céspedes. The set design is Lucas Ruscitti and Federico Toobe, and the lighting is by Cristian Buffa.

The directing assistance is from Agustina Arriola and the Staging and General Direction are from Rubén von der Thüsen.

The show will be presented at LOA, AGM Space, May 25, 1867, Santa Fe Medical Guild Association, on Fridays in June, at 9:00 p.m.

Reservations are made at 342 477 2828 (from 2 to 9 p.m.)
