A major road accident occurred this Saturday in the south of Córdoba: a car and a passenger bus collided and left seven people injured. It happened on national route 9, after 7 p.m., in front of the Villa María Rural Society.

Now, the Córdoba Police reported that the driver of the car was detained since he tested positive in the breathalyzer test: he had 2.30 degrees of alcohol in his blood.

This is a 31-year-old man, who was traveling accompanied by two women and four children between 5 and 13 years old. All were injured and had to be taken to a hospital.

Clash in Villa María: what is known

Personnel of the Volunteer Fire Department of Villa Maria was alerted by the accident and they approached the place, where they came across the scene: the vehicles hit head-on.

Three ambulances and two fire crews were present, in addition to a rescue unit and another logistics unit. According to the force, there were seven people in the VW Senda, four of whom were minors.

Meanwhile, the long-distance bus was driven by a 60-year-old man and had 12 passengers. Fortunately, no one suffered injuries.

Of these seven occupants of the smaller vehicle, three were trapped inside the car. The other four managed to be rescued by the same people who witnessed the crash.

Finally, all of them were transferred to the Pasteur hospital with injuries of various degrees. The victims are an adult man, two women and four minors.

Both the driver and the passengers of the bus were unharmed.

The reasons that caused the crash are being investigated.
