Regarding this, the Undersecretary of Federal Programming and Legislative Articulation of the Nation, Néstor Majul, one of the organizers of the Council, explained in detail: “A Digital Ring is going to be presented, a system that will allow connectivity with all the data of the vehicles in the country; the issue of drug trafficking with chemical precursors will also be worked on; and a new Secure Tribune biometric data system will also be proposed, faster than before.

Mercedes Rus, on the national agenda of the Security Council in Mendoza

The Minister of Security of Mendoza, Mercedes Rus, assured that the issues that will be discussed in the province “challenge all the country’s portfolios.”

From Mendoza, they insisted on the treatment of bills that modify the Penal Code, to aggravate penalties that have to do with concealment and the theft of cables. The latter, because “it affects public services.”

“Minister Bullrich promised to include the projects in the package that she will present in Congress,” said Rus.

“The Security Council meeting is an area for exchanging experiences, in which strategic and operational decisions are made to advance security for citizens throughout the country,” said Minister Bullrich upon arriving at the auditorium.

“We are going to work on federal digital rings, on digital and federal 911, on the fight against drug trafficking and the forms of connection between the provinces and the Nation; and a very important number of topics that increase police capabilities and the capabilities of the Security ministries,” he added about the day’s agenda.

Regarding the unification of data, he explained that Security is currently managed with the SIFCOP, which is the Federal Police Communications System, to which all provinces – except one – have access.

“The offices of the entire country are uploaded there and we have a unified capture system. We have also sent to Parliament the draft of the Data bankas Mendoza has, for the use of DNA as a new criminal policy tool,” he added.

That project has already obtained an opinion and will be discussed in the chamber. “Every person who enters with a process will have their DNA taken and that will be a proof mechanism in cases of robbery, rape and murder. It can serve for conviction or for the innocence of the person,” he explained.
