1,427 controls were carried out and 173 violations were issued.
With the aim of preventing the occurrence of crimes and increasing the feeling of security in the community, Carabineros of the O’Higgins Zone developed last Saturday, June 1, a National Focused Preventive Round, deploying all the units and barracks of the Cachapoal and Prefectures. Colchagua – Cardenal Caro for the territory, with support from the specialized units SIP, SEBV, OS-7, OS-9 and COP.
Preventive patrols, inspections of commercial and alcohol establishments, as well as identity and vehicle controls were part of the actions carried out by Carabineros between 7 p.m. on June 1 until 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 2 at the points of greatest criminal connotation and incivility, allowing the arrest of 41 people. Of these, 20 correspond to current arrest warrants and 21 for flagrante delicto.
Inspections and preventive controls
The National Targeted Round is aimed at prevention, targeting, control and detention throughout the jurisdictional sector of the O’Higgins Region. In that sense, during the development of the round, efforts were focused on preventive controls and inspections. A total of 1,427 checks were carried out: 667 identity checks, 704 vehicle checks; and, 31 inspections of alcohol establishments, and 24 of commercial premises. In addition, 173 violations were filed: 129 traffic violations; 19 infractions for drinking alcohol on public roads and 25 for private security. A handgun and 8 ammunition were also seized.

The head of the O’Higgins Zone, General Max Jiménez Fleming, pointed out that “this National Focused Round is organized by the National Directorate of Order and Security of Carabineros, DIOSCAR, and was carried out throughout the country to increase the feeling of security in the neighbors from all over the territory. In our Region, all human and logistical resources were available to develop an effective and efficient deployment in both the Cachapoal and Colchagua and Cardenal Caro Prefectureswhich would allow prevention, targeting, control and detention actions to be carried out.”
He added that “this year 2024, three National Focused Rounds have already been carried out in addition to the usual Rounds that we carry out as the O’Higgins Zone and those contemplated in each Unit and barracks of the respective prefectures, and They will continue to be done throughout the year to provide greater peace of mind to the community“, stated Zone Chief O’Higgins, who called to report illegal acts at level 133, because “in this way the places with the greatest criminal connotation can be georeferenced to develop preventive actions,” he concluded.
