The AAT Challenger Santander Santa Fe edition has already defined its main draw and the first round of the competition has already begun.

This Monday the final qualifying matches were played on the three clay courts of the Santa Fe Lawn Tennis Club.

Tomás Farjat, Dali Blanch, Leonardo Aboian, Emilio Gómez, Trey Hilderbrand and Aleksandr Lobanov were those who managed to advance and joined those who had managed to enter directly. That list is headed by the Bolivian brothers Hugo and Murkel Dellien, 163rd and 222nd in the ATP ranking.

There will be a total of 15 Argentines who will compete in this new edition of the most important tennis tournament in the province of Santa Fe.

In one of the first matches of the day, Argentine Tomás Farjat defeated his compatriot Franco Ribero 6-2, 6-3 and will return to play in a Challenger main draw after almost nine months. Simultaneously, the American Dali Blanch eliminated the Argentine Santiago De La Fuente 6-2 and 7-5.

While another national tennis player who advanced to the main draw was Leonardo Aboian, who defeated the Brazilian Rafael Tosetto 5-7, 6-2 and 6-3. The outlook was different for Bautista Vilicich, who couldn’t beat the Ecuadorian Emilio Gómez and fell 6-3, 7-6.

The last two to enter the main draw were the American Trey Hilderbrand, who beat the Colombian Juan Sebastián Gómez by a double 6-3 and the Russian Aleksandr Lobanov who beat the American Alexander Stater 6-4, 3-6 and 6-1 .

The AAT Challenger Santander Santa Fe edition awards 50 ATP points to the champion and distributes US$50,000 in prizes. This is the fourth tournament of this type organized by the Argentine Tennis Association so far this year, after two events in Buenos Aires and the remaining one in Tucumán.
