The agreement between the Government, employers and unions to protect the rights of LGBTI workers in the workplace is a pioneering initiative in the EU that will improve and regulate the working conditions of this group. From this tripartite agreement, the first … of this legislature, measures will be established to achieve full real and effective equality for these workers in production centers. The obvious difficulties that trans, lesbian and gay people encountered in accessing and developing their sexual identity in the workplace necessitated a union and business commitment and the development of internal regulations that guarantee equal treatment and opportunities in the future. The right to non-discrimination also required establishing equality indicators, both in the public Administration and in the private sector, and the corresponding ethical codes and protocols that guarantee it. For the agreement to be implemented, over and above the rejection practices installed in society, it will be necessary for a specialized inspection system to monitor compliance with the agreements and report cases of harassment or violence against people from the LGBT community.
