Alfredo Menem, Minister of Social Development of The Riojapointed out against his cousin, the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menemand blamed him for “hindering” the sending of funds to the province.
“Martín grew up there in Buenos Aires. He doesn’t know any neighborhood in our city, much less does he know the interior of the province. So he can’t possibly know about the needs of the people of Rioja,” he said.
In dialogue on Radio con Vos, Governor Ricardo Quintela’s official made a public request to the member of La Libertad Avanza.
“Martín has to look after the people who voted for him. He is sitting representing the people of La Rioja in a seat in Congress and has to prioritize the defense of the interests of the people of La Rioja and not the model that he represents, which is concentrating, exclusive, discriminatory and insensitive,” he said.
Along these lines, Alfredo Menem mentioned former president Carlos Menem and assured that “he would not be proud at all” of the president of the Lower House. “I can assure you and you can ask anyone here in our province,” he said.
The Riojan official expanded his criticism: “I am at the opposite end of the model that he represents. I represent a model that distributes, that generates quality of life and that proposes that social justice is above personal interests.”
