Armed with machetes, six men violently entered the Health Center of the municipality of Maní with the intention of attacking a man identified as John Jairo Caro Lenguas who had been admitted minutes before due to stab wounds.
According to reports, the victim managed to hide in a room and fortunately the Police reacted immediately, controlling the group of people who threatened to harm Caro.
Red Salud, headed by the Manager, Lady Patricia Bohórquez Cuevas, issued a statement
rejecting the violent acts and affirming that the situation was controlled in a timely manner thanks to the intervention of Police units… “acts of violence and intolerance have no place in our facilities, which are dedicated to the noble mission of saving lives and providing care quality medical care.”
At the same time, the inhabitants of the municipality of Maní pointed out that disorders are recorded every time there is payment and are carried out by palm trees who “get the town into a ruana”, get out of control and cause all kinds of evils, such as damage to cashiers, fights and violence.
