Flights with delays? A key union announced 18 days of protests during June

The Guild of air traffic controllers (ATEPSA) announced a stoppage schedule that will extend 18 days during June in demand of salary increases. The various force measures will last between three and six hours per day which will affect domestic and international flights.

The protests will start this Sunday June 9 and will last until Sunday the 30th. However, the On the 13th, 15th, 16th and 22nd, no type of force measure will be carried out.. Through social networks, the Association of Air Navigation Protection and Safety Technicians and Employees published a calendar detailing the schedule of the strike.

ATEPSA has between 1000 and 1200 affiliates spread across the 54 airports of all country. It covers air traffic controllers as well as other workers in the technical area. The union already held two three-hour protests during the CGT general strike on May 9.

Air traffic controllers’ strike: when will it be and which flights will it affect?

The 18 stoppages of ATEPSA will consist of cessation of activities, although staff will remain in their jobs. They will start this Sunday, June 9, to demand salary increases.

Below is the schedule of air traffic controller strikes:

  • Sunday June 9: Will affect international flights. It will start at twenty and will end at 24 hours.
  • Monday June 10: The strike will begin at 14 and will end at 17 hours. It affects all aviation.
  • Tuesday June 11th: Of 5 to 8 p.m.the force measure applies to both domestic and international flights.
  • Wednesday June 12: The protest will take place between 20 and 24 hours. Applies to internationals.
  • Friday June 14: They will be carried out two stoppages during the day. The first will last four hours (13 to 16) and the second will start at twenty and will end at 23. It affects all aviation.
  • Monday June 17: Aviation will be affected on two occasions: 07 to 10 and of 17 to 20 hours.
  • Tuesday June 18: Air traffic controllers will not provide air traffic services. 8pm to 2am -from Wednesday- to international flights.

  • Wednesday June 19: The aeronautical union protest will be from 7 until 10. It affects all aviation.
  • Thursday June 20: Of 12 to 3 p.m.the measure of force of air traffic controllers applies to both national and international flights.
  • Friday, June 21st: The strike will begin at 6 and will end at 12 hours. It affects international flights.
  • Sunday June 23: The aeronautical union protest will be from 19 to 22. They will not provide services to international flights.
  • Monday June 24: They will be carried out two stoppages during the day. The first will last four hours (13 to 16) and the second will start at twenty and will end at 23. It affects all aviation.
  • Tuesday June 25: It will affect international and domestic flights. It will start at 12 and will end at fifteen hours.
  • Wednesday June 26: Of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the force measure applies to all aviation. And since 22 until 6 -from Thursday-, they will once again stop providing services to international flights.
  • Thursday June 27: The strike will begin at 19 and will end at 22 hours. Applies to international flights.
  • Friday June 28: They will be carried out two stoppages during the day. The first will last four hours (13 to 16) and the second will start at twenty and will end at 23. It affects all aviation.
  • Saturday June 29: Of 3 to 6 p.m., the force measure applies to all aviation. And since 22 until 6 -from Sunday-, they will once again stop providing services to international flights.
  • Sunday June 30: Air traffic controllers will carry out two stoppages during the day. The first will last four hours (13 to 16) and the second will start at twenty and will end at 23. It affects all aviation.
