Moscow- As part of the work program carried out in Moscow by the delegation chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, meetings have been held with parliamentary leaders and business organizations linked to cooperation between the Republic of Cuba and the Federation of Russia.

“The willingness of Moscow and Havana to build and strengthen relations in the widest range of areas” was confirmed in the meeting that the Cuban leader held with the vice president of the Russian Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, who assured that Cuba will continue counting on Russian parliamentary support.

In addition, he recognized the importance of the participation of the Greater Antilles in the Saint Petersburg 2024 International Economic Forum and in other events in the sports, cultural and scientific field that will soon take place in this country.

Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz thanked the Russian Federation for its traditional support and recalled the main agreements reached in recent months to strengthen the alliance between both nations, and referred to the particularities of the moment that both countries are experiencing, in which The relevance of strengthening bilateral ties is reinforced.

These issues were also discussed in a friendly meeting that took place with Iván Mielnikov, first vice president of the State Duma and first vice president of the Communist Party of Russia, with whom the recent interparliamentary exchanges that were chaired by the party were also discussed. Cuban, by the vice president of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Ana María Mari Machado.

As part of the rest of the activities on the work agenda developed in Moscow, the Cuban delegation held meetings with leaders and executives of Russian entities and companies linked to key sectors in the bilateral relationship such as the sugar agroindustry, transportation, food production and tourism, in which the main actions that have been carried out together were analyzed and agreements were adopted for their continuity.

In these meetings, the existence of mutually beneficial business opportunities for both countries was ratified, in the current circumstances they are going through. Vice Prime Minister Cabrisas insisted on the importance of moving forward with agility and without improvisations, to achieve the realization of the defined purposes and the materialization of joint projects.
