One of the demands that the unions have made Ministry of Labor gave an important pass this Tuesday, June 4, when the special compensation bonus was approved.

“After several technical tables with the Administrative Department of the Public Service and the Ministry of Finance, the special bonus for compensation of the 2023-2025 union agreement has been approved”indicated the ministry whose portfolio manager is Gloria Inés Ramírez.

According to this agency, this approval demonstrates “the political will of the Government and the minister, who invites the union organizations to the permanent dialogue table.”

This bonus represents a 50% of salary and is established in the 2023-2025 union agreement. It should be remembered that Minister Ramírez had already paid a 25% bonus in December of last year.

Since last week, the unions in this portfolio have been on indefinite strike, preventing entry into the Ministry of Labor. That is why Ramírez has had to work from the Department of agriculture.

In Barranquilla alone, 88 workers are protesting and, along with the rest of the country’s offices, are asking for salary leveling, the payment of this bonus and in general that the collective agreement signed in 2023 be complied with.
