Taxis and remises warn that councilors are seeking an ordinance for Uber

As indicated by the Deliberative Council, the session scheduled to discuss the regulations would be on June 19, meanwhile, taxi drivers and taxi drivers are seeking permanent dialogue with municipal authorities and councilors to analyze the situation in depth.

Juan Carlos De Leonardi, owner of the company Remises La Rioja expressed “Uber will be detrimental as long as this works and comes out as an ordinance that does not contemplate what has to do with the passenger transportation service.”

In this sense, De Leonardi pointed out that “Uber provides work, but to the individual who goes out to look for passengers, but the application does not pay anything in the province and we do not know how many drivers it has.”

“You cannot make an ordinance for a company,” De Leonardi warned about the possibility that councilors sanction a project that regularizes the presence of the application in La Rioja.

For this reason, drivers demand equal conditions with Uber, indicating that it must pay taxes, register its drivers and periodically carry out checks at the RTO.
