LOGROÑO, June 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, within the framework of the celebration today, June 5, of World Environment Day, carries out a joint action with the centers participating in its environmental education program Educational Centers Towards Sustainability (CEHS) to commemorate this date.

This June 5, the United Nations highlights the urgency of preserving natural spaces essential for human existence. On this occasion, under the motto “Our lands. Our future. We are the #RestorationGeneration”, we seek to raise awareness among the population about the critical situation of ecosystems and motivate joint action not only to conserve them, but also to restore them.

In this way, the schools will carry out a ‘Costume or sculpture contest with recycled materials’, an initiative that was devised and agreed upon by the students themselves during the XI Regional Youth Environmental Conference ‘Let’s take care of the planet’, held in the Riojaforum on April 25.

34 EDUCATIONAL CENTERS IN LA RIOJA

This contest involves 34 educational centers in La Rioja, with nearly 19,000 students participating in the CEHS program. This joint action seeks to raise awareness among students of all ages about the challenges of climate change. Through dynamics like this, we seek to impact, raise awareness, encourage critical thinking and motivate students and educational centers to be part of the #RestorationGeneration.

The deadline for the contest is next Wednesday, June 12, for the receipt of all applications. It will be the students themselves who will elect their network representatives at the XI Autonomous Youth Environmental Conference, as well as the center that has best carried out this “artivist” action. The sculpture or costume that best conveys a message related to climate change will be valued primarily.

Both the candidates and the winners of the contest will be available on the official social networks of the CEHS program, @cehs_la_rioja.
