The Institute of Culture of Corrientes invites lovers of the seventh art to the screening of the Italian classic “Cinema Paradiso”, which will take place within the framework of the “Cinema in the Fine Arts” cycle and also as part of the proposals for the Week of Italian Culture. The activity will take place this Friday, June 7, at 8 p.m., at the Museum (San Juan 634).

“Cinema Paradiso” is a love story for cinema. It tells the story of Salvatore, a boy from a small Italian village where the only pastime is going to the movies. Subjugated by moving images, the boy blindly believes that cinema is magic; But, one day, Alfredo, the operator, agrees to teach the little boy the mysteries and secrets hidden behind a movie. Salvatore grows and the time comes when he must leave the town and find a life. Thirty years later he receives a message telling him that he must return home.

A true gem of European cinema directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. An unforgettable, nostalgic and endearing timeless classic that marked an entire generation. Winner of the Oscar and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film in 1990 for Italy and awarded at numerous international festivals, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Festival. “Cinema Paradiso” was a huge box office success.

A charming, nostalgic and endearing celebration of the magic of movies with an unforgettable soundtrack by maestro Ennio Morricone. The best tribute that cinema has made to itself. A hymn to friendship that has become a classic of European cinema.
