In dialogue with Radio Sarmiento, the current Secretary of Tourism, Belén Barboza, assured that “particularly” she wants that moment to return to the FNS. “I don’t think it’s objectifying. I think that speaks more about who says it or thinks it,” she highlighted and added that these are events that still exist such as Miss Universe and Miss World.
“There are departments of San Juan that still choose the Queen or the Harvest Festival, for example. Although it is chosen for its beauty, we do not rule out how it is expressed and developed,” she said.
The official said that she would “love” to return the Queen’s election to the FNS but assured that it is not defined. “In many parties it is the most important thing,” she concluded.
