Russia plans to support Cuba in the development of renewable energy • Workers

The Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, Evgueni Grabchak, highlighted this Thursday that his country works together with the Cuban authorities to support the development of renewable energies in the Caribbean nation.

Russian companies in the energy sector “actively work in Latin America,” and one of our niches is on the Antillean island with the construction of facilities with the use of natural resources, the deputy head said in statements to the Sputnik agency.

Grabchak highlighted that the XXVII edition of the Saint Petersburg Forum (Spief 2024) is an important showcase to strengthen ties and create commitments in terms of collaboration with Latin American countries.

“With regard to the construction of power plants and networks, it is above all with Cuba that we maintain intense collaboration,” he remarked.

Likewise, he announced that within the agenda of the largest economic event in Russia he will have a meeting with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, who chairs the delegation from the largest of the Antilles, where they will talk about the energy projects they are implementing, “some related to the construction of renewable energy facilities,” Grabchak added.

The agenda of the Cuban delegation in Spief 2024 promotes the expansion and diversification of economic, commercial, financial and cooperation relations between Havana and Moscow, considered by the leaders of both countries as relations of allies.

In this sense, the Antillean representatives have so far exchanged with official and business counterparts linked to the main issues of the bilateral agenda and the agreements adopted to achieve the effective participation of the Russian Federation in the National Economic and Social Development Plan of Cuba until 2030.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum takes place from June 5 to 8. This edition has as its theme The basis of a multipolar world: formation of new points of growth, and has the participation of 18,600 people from 139 countries.
