Varadero.- THE TEAM Cuba Azul defeated Cuba Rojo 2-0 (6×0, 2×0) this Thursday, to win first place in the II Baseball5 Caribbean Cup, based at the Arenas Blancas hotel in this resort.
The troops led by Guantanamo coach Liorvis Savón were precise in all lines of play in this dynamic baseball modality. He hit the ball with power and craftiness, ran the bases quickly and closed his defense well.
In the first set, the mixed team dressed in blue scored its six runs in the second inning, supported by four hits that were combined with three errors by the rival defense.
The next quarter was extremely close, but the blues scored twice in the fifth inningthanks to three hits – two by young midfielder Josué Gutiérrez – and a mistake by their opponents.
