Sapo Producciones: «We try to show the theater that was done in 1521»

There is a lot to prepare. The Logroño festivities are coming and nothing can be left to chance. The actors are an essential piece of the celebrations, they carry the weight of street performances such as ‘La Comedia del Sitio’ and ‘Que are Coming to the French’, by Sapo Producciones, which represents the first since 2008.

“These characters are there to play, to laugh at everything,” explains Josué Lapeña, one of the protagonists when asked why rehearsals are so necessary after years of knowing the Comedia del Sitio play. “The whole is the same,” he clarifies, “but as before the issues that were most present in society were brought to comedy, we also let them fall,” he indicates. “This is how we innovate with politics, things from Logroño, popular…” “This event is a benchmark in the festival and we try to show the theater that was done in 1521,” he says.
