At noon this Thursday, June 6, the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta, through the Unified Action Group for Personal Freedom (Gaula), reported the rescue of a 51-year-old Spanish citizenin the Antonio Nariño neighborhood of Villa del Rosario.

“The rescue operation was carried out through investigative actions, by uniformed members of the Gaula, Army and units of the CTI Technical Investigation Corps of the Prosecutor’s Office; which made it possible to establish the exact location of the place where the kidnappers were holding Hernández Ortiz captive.“said the Cúcuta Police.
According to the institution, during the procedure, four people were captured in flagrante delicto, who were guarding the victim, who demanded the sum of $700,000 thousand dollars for his release.

The colonel William Quintero Salazar, commander of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police, He noted that the rescue occurred in the early hours of this Thursday.
“This man had arrived in Cúcuta to carry out some commercial transactions,” the officer said.
In a video released by authorities, The victim thanked the authorities for the rescue and stressed that he is originally from Mexiconaturalized Spanish, but had already been residing in Colombia for months.
