Jean Karlo Bermúdez Camargo was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his participation in the murder of the businessman Roberto Franco Charry in Bogota. The man was the one driving the motorcycle on which he tried to escape with the hitman.

The accused reached a preliminary agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office and decided to accept his responsibility in the crime that was committed on February 21 in a building in Parque de la 93 in Bogotá.

“The pre-signed agreement was endorsed by a criminal judge with knowledge, “who, in light of these events, sentenced Bermúdez Camargo to 20 years in prison,” the Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

Bermúdez Camargo was found responsible for the crimes of aggravated homicide, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms and receiving.

Roberto Franco Charry was a businessman and brother of the former director of the DIAN, Óscar Franco. Before his death he worked as an auditor of large sums of money and he had already been threatened on several occasions for his work.
