A historic debt is settled: Guardia Miter will have its Sports Center

It is a work that remained unfinished since the truncated transfer of the federal capital to this area, and since then, it became a historical debt and a strong desire of the entire community that begins to be fulfilled today.

“The Governor committed to the Mayor to work together. This will be a stage, but the idea is to collaborate from the Province so that Guardia Miter, in a short time, can have its space closed, and its sports center finished,” the Minister explained.

This sports center was promised in 1987, when the National Congress declared the Federal District of Viedma, Carmen de Patagones and Guardia Miter as the new capital of Argentina. As this project did not prosper, the work was paralyzed shortly after, and the little progress made was with municipal funds.

Now, through joint work between the Province and the Municipality, the sports center finally began to see the light and will soon be available to the community.

After the signing, Mayor Evans showed his joy at this new news for his town: “This will allow us to do multiple sports and cultural activities that Guardia Miter could not do before, because we did not have the space. We have suffered anniversaries and outdoor activities, especially in winter times, and in this context it was complicated, because the conditions were not in place. “We are very happy and grateful to the Governor and his team.”

Guardia Miter was the only small town in the province that did not have a completed sports center, and about this, Evans said that “it is appreciated that the provincial government is thinking about starting new works or continuing works that are often unattainable for municipalities. So I value and congratulate the governor for this initiative and for this management.”
