Eighty schoolchildren along with their families and authorities gathered to commemorate the new beginning – and graduation of some of them – of the ViLTI SeMANN Program in that town.

With great enthusiasm, the ViLTI SeMANN Program, executed by the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) and financed by SQM Yodo Nutrición Vegetal, dedicated to education in robotics and technology, celebrated its last launch of the year in the town of María Elena.

The event was attended by the SQM Corporate Affairs Manager Yodo Vegetal Nutrition, Pablo Pisani Codoceo; and the councilor of the Municipality of María Elena, Carmen Miranda Caimanque.

One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of Olga Hernández Gallo as “tchitack” of the Program, which means “heart” in Kunza. The director symbolizes the core and reason for being of ViLTI SeMANN, and her creation inspired the 80 students present, along with their families, who commemorated this new beginning.

“We are very happy to be able to have graduates of the ViLTI SeMANN Program, which in María Elena has generated a lot of commitment, not only from the boys and girls, but also from the parents who have actively participated in the program and have committed to the different initiatives. that allow their development. This shows that this commitment is long, it takes several years of work and today we see that we have more boys and girls developing robotics as a fundamental element.”said Pablo Pisani Codoceo, SQM Corporate Affairs Manager Iodine Plant Nutrition.

In addition, the effort and dedication of six members of the last group of the learning cycle, called “Thaya,” was recognized. These students received diplomas and a special present for their four years of commitment to the Program, along with the invitation to continue being part of ViLTI SeMANN with the “Alpha” level, which was a moment of pride for everyone.

In this regard, Olga Hernández Gallo commented that “The ViLTI SeMANN Program, which belongs to the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research and Technological Development of the Universidad Católica del Norte, this year, in the month of August, celebrates 11 years of experience, therefore, the importance of being in each of the localities leaves us very happy and satisfied with the work done. We have been working at María Elena for more than five years, we have generations of graduates and families committed to the work we do. It is important to be able to have that support, along with that of SQM, who has supported us during these 11 years of experience”.

This launch marks the closing of a cycle of events, but also begins a year full of exciting challenges for all the locations where the program operates: Antofagasta, Tocopilla, María Elena, La Huayca and La Tirana. There are 305 students who will continue learning about educational robotics and exploring new opportunities.
