This Wednesday the 5th and Thursday the 6th in Las Juntas and Fray Mamerto Esquiú the first stage of the Program “Guidelines for tourism management and innovation – Sustainable Municipalities” was carried out, promoted by the Undersecretariat of Tourism of the Nation with the support of the Secretariat of Tourism Management of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of Catamarca.

The coordinator of Tools for Sustainable Tourist Municipalities, Gabriel Dario Perrone, accompanied by the team from the Tourism Quality Directorate of the Province and the Tourism areas of the municipalities, worked together with the tourism providers to define the image of the destinations.

The guidelines of this program are aimed at municipalities that received the tourism quality seal of the “Bases for the Comprehensive Management of Sustainable Tourist Municipalities” program, which consists of a first approach to quality at the national level in terms of organization by procedures, teamwork, standardization of tourist services, survey of attractions, activities and tourist products.

The Juntas, Fray Mamerto Esquiú, Fiambalá and Antofagasta de la Sierra obtained the certification last year and in this second year they began with the strategic planning of the destination, along with the internal analysis of the available resources.

The tool proposes sustainable planning for municipalities and local tourism organizations, which responds to the preservation and good use of resources, taking into account management, innovation and socially fair.
