The call to participate in the second version of the Coquimbo Region Visual Arts Fair (FAVIC) is now open, an event that in its first edition last year stood out for its success and wide participation of artists.

The Coquimbo Region Visual Arts Fair (FAVIC) has opened the call for its second edition, to be held on October 4, 5 and 6, 2024 at the Herradura Yacht Club, Coquimbo. This event seeks to strengthen the visual arts scene in the region, offering a meeting space for artists, curators and the general public.

FAVIC 2024 is presented as a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration between visual artists residing in the Coquimbo Region. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their works, create collaborative networks and participate in various activities designed to enhance their artistic careers. The fair, supported by the Corporation of Visual Creators of the Coquimbo Region (VICREA) and financed by the Regional Fondart of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, promises to be an enriching space for both artists and the public.

In its first edition, held in October 2023, FAVIC brought together more than 50 visual artists at the La Herradura Yacht Club. The event stood out for its extensive exhibition of works and a mediation program that included activities at the San Rafael de Pan de Azúcar School and the Palace Cultural Center. Visual art thinkers from different parts of the country, along with regional artists such as Oskar Huerta, Tatiana Martin and Frano Mejías, contributed with their knowledge and experiences, enriching the dialogue about the visual arts in the region.

To participate in FAVIC 2024, interested artists must send their documentation to [email protected] before July 10, 2024. Registration includes a dossier with personal and professional information, images of the works to be presented and a proposal of mediation activity. Works are accepted in various disciplines such as painting, drawing, engraving, photography, digital art, sculpture, mixed techniques and textile art.

The evaluation committee will select the participants, who will have the opportunity to exhibit their works in the virtual gallery and at the fair, participate in audiovisual capsules and receive accommodation and meals if they come from outside the La Serena-Coquimbo conurbation.
