The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Colombian Police and the Prosecutor’s Office, in a joint effort, captured six people who, apparently, were part of a transnational drug trafficking network in the country. In the operation against these people, more than 420 kilos of pure cocaine were also found that was hidden in a vehicle.

According to the authorities, five of these people were captured in Bogotá, by court order, while the sixth was caught in flagrante delicto on the road that leads from Guaduas (Cundinamarca), to the country’s capital, while transporting drugs.

Investigations indicate that these people formed a transnational organization dedicated to drug trafficking and that had influence in Cauca, Huila, Nariño, Vichada and Bogotá. The drugs they trafficked, apparently, would have been moved in cargo vehicles equipped with hidden compartments, to transport them from laboratories and stockpiles in Cauca and Nariño, to Bogotá, and from the city to the Atlantic coast and the Orinoquía, places from which It left for Central American countries, Venezuela and the United States, by sea and air.

The organization, apparently, was led by Wiliam Neil Pineda Córdoba, alias W, who was captured by court order in Bogotá. This person, the investigations indicate, could “collect and finance sufficient means to provide narcotics to various criminal organizations in the country.” The main collection center for alias W was Bogotá and he frequented Cauca, Cundinamarca, Huila, Antioquia, Boyacá, Magdalena and La Guajira, where he apparently had criminal alliances and carried out most of his business.

Likewise, Diana Ladino Castaño, alias Carito, partner of alias W, was captured in Bogotá, and who was apparently in charge of coordinating the logistics and collection of the drugs that were sent from Cauca to Bogotá. Alias Javier or Jota, alias Careniña and alias Nacho or Tasmania were also captured in the operations.

The drugs seized by the authorities would be valued at $2.5 billion. The members of this organization were presented before a Guarantee Control Judge, who sent them to jail as a security measure, while the case against them progresses.
