This week, through their social networks, Irina Karamanos (Social Convergence) shared a video on its social networks in which it announced that, between July 4 and 25, it will hold a four-session “deepening seminar” on discrimination, organized by the International Institute of Philosophy and Social Studies.

To promote the workshop, the institute circulated an invitation with the details. The document mentions that this instance “raises a deep reflection on the sociocultural and sociopolitical categories that make up individual and collective identity. From a critical perspective, it is questioned how these categories, often naturalized, perpetuate discrimination and inequality. It seeks to unravel the mechanisms through which these categories are established and reproduced, as well as explore the possibilities of transformation and resistance to them.

Specifically, there are four classes. The first of them, called “marking systems”, addresses the “exploration of tables, codes and categories of discrimination, as well as identity politics and intersectionality.” The second, called “frontiers of subjectivity”is about “reflection on otherness, sameness and the non-identical in the construction of identities.”

The last two classes are about “single thought” -and includes an “analysis of the redefinition of the concept of difference, phenomenology queer and collective freedom – and on the “transformation potential” -and addresses the “examination of the power of dissent, theory of deviation and deterritorialization in the fight against discrimination.”

The workshop given by the feminist activist – as she defines herself – has a value of $150 thousand pesos. To that, we must also add the registration fee, which costs $20 thousand. As mentioned in the invitation, there is a 50% tuition fee scholarship.

The document highlights that Karamanos He is a “Bachelor of Arts in Educational Sciences and Social/Cultural Anthropology” from the University of Heidelberg. And it has studies in methods for social research, cultural management, semiology of expression and citizen education. In addition, it is part of the coordination of the International Observatory of Feminist Policies of the Feminist International.

She also served, for three months, as “general coordinator for strengthening the political participation of women” in Social Convergence.

In recent months, the former first lady has also participated in talks TED and served as art curator at the exhibition of Mariana Najmanovich. Recently, in addition, he had an approach to the family of President Gabriel Boric. “Beautiful people and beautiful photo! Hugs,” she commented on an Instagram post shared by Simon Boricbrother of the President, in which the Boric Font family is seen during the public account last Saturday.
