The Rioja government is expected to sign the agreement on Monday. It is not ruled out that Governor Quintela will sign it with the new Chief of Staff of the Nation, Guillermo Francos, in a first political agreement between the administrations.

The relationship between the national government and La Rioja is not going through its best moment. Added to the ideological differences are crosses over the total cut of financing that Casa Rosada made to the provinces with the exception of the trickle of federal co-participation.

Now, with the empowerment of the former Minister of the Interior and current Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, who directs the Nation – provinces relationship, Riojavirtual was able to learn that next week, more precisely on Monday if there are no changes due to agenda issues, it is expected finalize the first agreement between the parties after six months without ties.

In this context, an agreement will be signed for a figure that will be slightly less than $200 billion for La Rioja to complete a quota of public works that, according to what Governor Quintela himself announced weeks ago, included, among others, the completion of the level crossing at the crossing. Felix de la Colina and Ortiz de Ocampo in Capital, the second section of the new Las Padercitas – Dique los Sauces road and the La Rioja – Chilecito road through Velasco.

The works that are reactivated also have the characteristics that they must have a minimum progress of between 40% and 80%.

The agreement to reactivate public works is not only with La Rioja, but is being finalized with numerous provinces after a total stoppage in the sector. There are around 850 works that the Nation considers strategic throughout the country and that it is willing to finance, mainly road works.

However, it is also expected that the agreement will imply the transfer of numerous types of works, such as housing, directly to the provincial order, meaning that the Nation will officially stop disbursing funds for it.

«In joint work with the Ministry of Economy, the Secretariat of Public Works and the governors, we agreed distribute responsibilities to us regarding the continuation of certain works. Some will continue to be run by the national governmentwhile others will do so under the orbit of the provinces,” Francos stated days ago.
