A total of 13 autonomous communities still do not have a 24-hour comprehensive care center for victims of sexual violence, as indicated this Friday by the Ministry of Equality.

Specifically, Madrid, Aragon, Valencia, Galicia, La Rioja, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Catalonia, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Asturias, the Canary Islands and Ceuta do not yet have one of these crisis committees, which should be operational before the end of the year. 2023. However, the European Commission approved an extension to extend the deadline until December 2024, since the majority of communities had not yet ready these centers, which are financed by the Ministry of Equality through the Next Generation funds, of the EU Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Six autonomous communities have launched at least one 24-hour comprehensive care center for victims of sexual violence.

Cantabria already has a center in Santander, since October 2023. The Basque Country has had one in Bilbao since December of last year and one in Vitoria that opened last April. Murcia opened a center in the capital in December 2023. Navarra has had a center in Pamplona since April and that same month those in Melilla and Albacete, in Castilla-La Mancha, opened.
