The development and growth of inclusive football in La Pampa stands out

Inclusion and overcoming barriers were the protagonists on the first date of the PCD Provincial Soccer League, which brought together more than 180 players on the synthetic floor field of the Butaló Sports Center in Santa Rosa.

In an atmosphere of camaraderie and respect, the teams demonstrated all their talent and passion for the sport, leaving aside any type of limitation.

The first date of the PCD Provincial Soccer League was a complete success, predicting an exciting competition full of unforgettable moments in the coming days. The tests were carried out to determine the skills of each player and begin to form the different teams, according to the coordinator of Adapted Sports of La Pampa, Sergio Manazzi.

This initiative, organized by the Rincón de Todos Foundation together with the Undersecretariat of Sports of La Pampa, demonstrates that sport is a powerful tool for inclusion and that with determination and passion, there are no limits that can stop those who dream of playing soccer.

More than 180 players from the towns of Intendente Alvear, Realicó, Colonia Barón, Toay, General Acha, Catriló and Santa Rosa attended the first event of the year. And Victorica and Guatraché are expected to join for the second date.

“ANNUAL GROWTH”

Manazzi said that last Saturday the twelfth edition of the Provincial League was launched. “On the first date what is sought is the testing, the leveling of the skills of each of the players, from there the number of teams that will participate will emerge,” he said.

“At first we were afraid because some had not guaranteed the transportation issue. We had a couple of towns left to come, which will be added on the second date, the rest all came. We had more than 180 athletes, so we were very satisfied with the start of the contest,” he added.

The coordinator of the activity highlighted that this League “is the sporting event that brings together the most people with disabilities, because it is the most popular sport in the country.”

“It has – he continued – only one category, over 16, so in that case many people can participate and year after year it grows in terms of players who join from other towns. The idea is to continue generating more sports policies that have to do with inclusion.”

He also explained the importance of working with the zonal coordinators of the Province, for better organization. “We deal with the zonal coordinators, the Province is divided into 10 Zones, each one has a coordinator who is in charge of sports with PWD, we deal with them, they would be a link, since they are the ones who have direct contact with both the teachers or with the sports directors of the municipalities, then we carry out the work in that way. Having that figure is easier and helps us a lot,” he highlighted.

The second date will be in June. “The scoring begins, since the first date was just testing. This year there will be four dates that will take place in Santa Rosa. The A and B level teams, both female and male, will draw the winners who will advance to the National, the female in San Rafael and the male in San Luis,” he concluded.

“INCLUSIVE SPORTS POLICIES”

The director of Disability, Iván Poggio, highlighted that La Pampa “has historically worked on inclusive sports policies.”

“Historically, La Pampa has always had public policies, absolutely transversal, inclusive, in which all people, regardless of their condition, can play sports. In this, the offer increases day by day and the Provincial Football League is nothing more than an example, it happens in other sports as well, such as the policies carried out by the ParaAraucania games, ParaEpade, among others. It has always been defined as an inclusive, transversal policy where all people can develop in all areas of life, and in this case, in sport,” he added.
