A lively night was experienced this Friday to the sound of cumbia in the popular El Almendral neighborhood, in the fifth version of the “Tocatas Porteñas”, an initiative organized by the Citizen Mayor’s Office, together with the territorial program “Valpo al 100” and the addresses Municipal Culture and Economic Development.

So far this year, the “Tocatas Buenos Aires” have positioned themselves as an unmissable cultural panorama of the city’s bohemia and, on this occasion, the central theme was cumbia, one of the most listened to genres in the streets and hills. from Valparaiso.

For this reason, the production of this event chose names of emerging cumbiera bands and others that are consolidated within the night circuit of the tropical scene.

Lorena Mitchel, owner of the Tendencias Restobar store, located on Avenida Francia, stated: “We feel super proud to be participating in these initiatives in Valparaíso, in which we are doing our Tocatas Porteñas in a bohemian place and making ourselves feel bohemian. We were with the group Sin Atao So everyone is totally invited to continue participating in the Tocatas Porteñas.

Likewise, Wanderley, vocalist of the band Sin Atao sound, a 7, I take my hat off. It is a nice opportunity to make our music known, because most of our songs are inspired by Valparaíso, its environment, the situations that any Buenos Aires man and woman can experience. For his part, Gonzalo Amoris, vocalist of the band Magia Negro, who brought their cumbia funk to the spectacular Sala Rívoli, stated: «The truth is that the experience at Tocatas Porteñas was incredible, we played at Sala Rívoli, a very nice place where They took great care of us, so we were very grateful to them. We were uncertain if people were going to enjoy our show or not, but we were pleasantly surprised, because the people who were at the venue thoroughly enjoyed all the songs. Although there were people who didn’t know us, everyone was singing, dancing, jumping, a little bit of everything, so we were very happy, we hope it won’t be the last, we hope to return and we are very grateful for this chance they gave us to be able to show our Show”.

“We are happy because Tocatas Porteñas has developed as a meeting space between the community, locals and artists, supporting Buenos Aires nightlife. And more musicians and tenants have already approached us to participate in one of these days. We hope to continue with the work of alliances, an associative work to collaborate in keeping bohemia alive in different historic neighborhoods of the city,” said Boris Yaikin, in charge of the Valpo al 100 program.

There were six settings chosen for this opportunity: Sala Rívoli; The Conventional; From the neighborhood; RestoBar Trends; Casa Yungay and Viejo Puerto, which are all close to each other, so you can perfectly visit different places during the course of the night.

The live performances were given by local groups Magia Negra (Rívoli); La Gran Sonora (The Conventional); Los Delirio Band (Del Barrio); Sin Atao Xorete (Trends); La Yo Ni Qumbia (Casa Yungay); and Revelación Porteña together with Invasión Tropikal (Old Port).
