The early hours of this Saturday were marked by an intense confrontation at the intersection of Arturo Illia and Dique Vidalino streets in Godoy Cruzwhich resulted in the arrest of three men and medical assistance to several people involved.
The incident broke out around 1:35 a.m., when agents from the 40th Police Station of Godoy Cruz were alerted by the Operations Center (CEO) about shots and threats on public roads. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a group of people in a heated argument with three armed individuals.
The victims, all people between 30 and 40 years old, informed the agents that the three suspects had threatened with firearms and carried out shots. Upon requesting reinforcements, the officers were faced with a chaotic situation in which one of the suspects attempted to flee, attacking two women and a police officer, although fortunately without causing serious injuries.
During the intervention, the police managed to reduce the suspects and two firearms were seized: a revolver, without a serial number, with three cartridge cases inside and a fired cartridge, and a black replica pistol. In addition, a spent 22 caliber case was found at the scene and a gray VW Gol car used by the detainees in their escape attempt was confiscated.
Those arrested are three men: one 61 years old, another 40 years old, and the last 36 years old. They resisted during their arrest, with one of them kicking an officer in the abdomen.
The victims, after the discussion with the aggressors, suffered minor multiple trauma and were assisted by the Coordinated Emergency Service (SEC). The detainees were injured during the fight and were taken to the La Estanzuela Neighborhood Health Center. Two of them were referred to the Central Hospital for x-rays.
Prosecutor’s Office No. 4 intervened in the case and carried out the corresponding investigations to clarify the facts and determine the criminal responsibilities of those involved.
