Reprehensible: Ricardo Canaletti made an offensive comment and compared Catamarca and La Rioja to prison

The TN journalist, Ricardo Canaletti, was the center of criticism in the last few hours due to an unfortunate and reprehensible comparison where our province is named.

Targeting the former Secretary of Internal Trade, Guillermo Moreno, who led a massive event at the Ferro stadium the night before Journalist’s Day, Canaletti expressed live a comparison between Catamarca and La Rioja with prison.

“Moreno should be in La Rioja, Catamarca, if not in prison,” he declared live, which immediately generated a wave of criticism for his lack of tact and respect towards the aforementioned provinces.

Even after the unnecessary and foolish comparison, Canaletti fueled the fire and used the invasion of the English in the Río de la Plata as an example. “They were going to send the highlanders to a place and they were terrified of it. For them it was the Gobi desert… Catamarca,” were the expressions of the panelist.

To finish his analogy, he maintained that he was not interested in anything, after his colleague tried to highlight our province for its current events.

The unfortunate comment was soon condemned by social media users.

“I am from Buenos Aires, and I feel ashamed of the comments of this anti-Homeland man. How sad his words are. HIS WORDS make me boil!!!”, “Beautiful provinces if there are any, how many personal problems will Canaleta have”, “Canaleta. …the North exists…we are territorial Argentina thanks to the heroes who defended these lands…stupidity has no limits,” were some of the comments that the viralized video received.
