The president will speak at the ‘Peace, Reconciliation and Human Rights’ Forum in Stockholm, where he will talk about the peace process and its importance in the country’s transformation.

Likewise, he will participate in the Conference for Peace in Ukraine, which will be held in the town of Bürgenstock, Switzerland.

A meeting with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is also scheduled on the president’s agenda.

Colombia’s active role at a global level in peace issues will be the central axis of the Official Visit of President Gustavo Petro to Sweden and its participation in the Conference for Peace in Ukraine, in Switzerland, agendas that will take place between the 12th and next June 16.

On Wednesday, June 12, upon his arrival in Sweden, the president will meet with members of the Swedish Parliament, led by the president of that collegiate body, Andreas Norlén.

The head of state will hold a meeting with Swedish businessmen on Thursday the 13th, to whom he will present the investment and commercial exchange opportunities in Colombia.

As part of the Official Visit to Sweden, the Colombian President will have, at the Royal Palace, a meeting with His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

Subsequently, he will meet with Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, with whom he will discuss strategic issues on the bilateral agenda and ratify the ties of friendship between the two nations, which date back to 1874.

On Friday, June 14, President Petro will speak at the ‘Peace, Reconciliation and Human Rights’ forum, which will be held at the Swedish Defense University.

There he will analyze the Peace Agreement in Colombia, its impact on the transformation of Colombian society, his current peace proposal for our country and the international support he has received in the search for Total Peace.

Then, the Colombian head of state will hold a meeting with the former prime minister and president of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Stefan Löfvén.

SIPRI carries out scientific research on conflict and cooperation issues that are key to world peace and security, always in search of a peaceful solution to international conflicts and sustainable peace.

On Saturday, June 15, President Gustavo Petro will arrive in Switzerland, where he will participate in the Conference for Peace in Ukraine.

This international meeting will have as its central theme exploring an initial common understanding among the participating States on how to act towards a stable and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The Conference will have three axes of discussion: nuclear security, food security and free transit and humanitarian affairs.

President Petro will present Colombia’s vision regarding this conflict, its global impact and in our country. In addition, he will propose the topics in which Colombia can contribute his experience.
