LOGROÑO, June 9. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The recreation of the Siege of Logroño with the arrival of the French troops at the Ebro Park, the celebration of La Rioja Day with the children’s folk festival on the Paseo del Espolón and the presentation of the ‘Hymn of Logroño’ by the Illo group -Gronio, Charanga PK2, Jacinto Salazar and the Bona Cántica Choir, center the program this Sunday of the San Barnabas festivities.
In addition to the Renaissance Market, located in several streets and squares of the Old Town, this Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., you can enjoy a Carousel and Ingenuity Tables by Leonardo Da Vinci in the Market Square and in Musical games and Logroño games have been organized in the Plaza de Santiago from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Of course, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., in the Ebro Park you can continue visiting the recreation of the Logroño Militia Camp and the French Military Camp as one of the main attractions of the festivities, where we will find, Thematic spaces with military tents and military life, exhibition of historical weapons, talks on chivalry and costumes.
MILITARY HARANGE
Another of the notable events of this Sunday is the military harangue in favor of the defense of the city, which will be carried out by the Heroes of Revellín, Guards of Santiago, Rioja Medieval, volunteers and French troops, in the Plaza de San Bartolomé at 11:45 a.m. from where the parade will depart through different streets of the city.
At 12:30 p.m. and again in the Ebro Park, the first act of recreation of the Siege of Logroño will take place and 30 minutes later, in the Plaza de San Bartolomé the Renaissance Dances will take place.
The tastings will be carried out by the Federation of Peñas de Logroño and the different peñas in our city will offer squid, chorizo, salchichón, eels, cheese or pâté toast with boletus, throughout the day in different parts of the city. In the afternoon, from 5:00 p.m., families will be able to enjoy the Family Renaissance Day, with a clay wheel, games and music in the Ebro Park and in the Plaza de Santiago.
Starting at 6:00 p.m., the Peña la Unión has organized the 1st Espadrille Throwing Competition on Ateneo Riojano Street, 10. At 8:00 p.m., the second act of recreation of the event will take place in the Ebro Park. Siege of Logroño and, at that same time, on the Paseo del Espolón the ‘Hymno de Logroño’ will be presented by the group Illo-Gronio, Charanga PK2, Jacinto Salazar and the Bona Cántica Choir.
At night, at 10:00 p.m., the ‘Dempsey’ fire show will take place in the Plaza de la Oca, and at 10:30 p.m. in the Plazuela Alonso de Salazar on Calle Norte, a theatrical performance of Sapo Productions ‘The French are coming!’. The day will conclude at 00:00 in Plaza Amós Salvador with the San Barnabas Clock.
