A former River and Argentine National Team player switched to MOTORSPORTS and won his first race

After his retirement from football, Ariel “Chino” Garcé He moved into motorsports and this Sunday he took a big step in this new facet by win your first race in the category Fiat Competizione that ran on the Rosario racetrack.

The former footballer had just completed a good classification in which he had achieved fourth place on the starting grid. After climbing several positions, he crossed the checkered flag as the leader and celebrated from the top step of the podium in front of the fans.

“I won, unthinkable”said Garcé, 42, in a video he recorded for Fiat Competizione’s social networks. And, he admitted: “On the last lap I was super nervous, I didn’t know what to do.”

Before the race, Chino had spoken with the newspaper The citizen from Rosario about this new stage of her life: “It’s something totally different“I have been wanting to experiment for a long time, I joined a couple of years ago and this category suits me well, it taught me a lot.”

“The car suits me. I come from motorcycles, I got hit and got into a carwhich is much safer,” he added.

Finally, regarding his expectations in the world of motorsports, he was clear: “I want to enjoy, be competitive, I like to live up to it. I admire professional drivers and once I got (in a car) I valued it much more. It’s all very fast and very finite, it’s very complex for me. I come from another sport, I came to have fun and I’m learning”.

Ariel Garcé was born in Tandil and trained as a soccer player in the youth teams of Rivera club for which he played in the first division between 2000 and 2005. Then, he played for teams such as Morelia of Mexico, Olimpo de Bahía Blanca, Rosario Central, Colón de Santa Fe, Argentinos Juniors and Atlético Rafaela.

In 2010, Diego Maradona was the coach of the Argentine National Team and, surprisingly, he summoned the Chinese for the World Cup in South Africa. The right back was part of the squad, but he did not play a minute in that tournament in which the national team was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
