On the fourth date of the Argentine Rally, held in Misiones, the Uruguayan duo composed of Rodrigo Zeballos-Sebastián González (Citroën C3 4×4 Rally2 1,600) placed in sixth place, after facing various complications that prevented them from achieving a better position.

From the start of the rally, Zeballos-González faced serious challenges. In the first section, they suffered a rollover that, fortunately, only caused damage to the bodywork. Thanks to the efforts of the crew and the help of several fans, they managed to get the car back on track. During the competition, they faced broken axle shafts, one on Saturday and another on Sunday, in addition to a puncture that set them back even further.

Despite these setbacks, the duo maintained a positive attitude and continued competing. When conditions permitted, they recorded outstanding times, such as the second best time in the last stretch, called Costanera-Prefectura (II).

“It was a very hard weekend for everyone, but for us it was especially difficult,” said Rodrigo “Coco” Zeballos. “In the first section we had a rollover and, unfortunately for us, the car was left with its wheels up. We quickly got out of the car and, with the help of Seba and some fans, we managed to turn it around. We were able to continue because, luckily, It was just a dented sheet metal, nothing mechanical. Then we broke an axle shaft, which made Saturday a complicated day, although we had some good stages with Seba we never gave up and kept going.”

On Sunday, the problems continued. Sebastián González narrated: “The second stage of this Misiones Rally was very difficult. We broke an axle shaft again and suffered a puncture in another section. However, in the two Special Tests that we were able to complete without problems, we recorded good times, including the second best time in the last stage. It was a bittersweet weekend, but we showed that, when we don’t have problems, we are among the best times. It was a tough rally, both for the car and for us physically.”

Rodrigo Zeballos concluded: “The truth is that we resisted and we are very happy with sixth place, since we took valuable points for the championship. We thank the entire team for the impressive work they did to leave the car impeccable.”

The next date of the Argentine Rally will take place from August 2 to 4, although the venue is yet to be confirmed.
