Carlos Miguélez Vara: The miracle of every spring

Like every year, Mother Nature gives us the miracle of spring. I have lived in this my adopted city for 18 years now and it never ceases to amaze me every spring, which is particularly beautiful in Logroño and this blessed land of Rioja. Is by Therefore, its inhabitants must strive to take care of this treasure that beautifies our city and makes life more pleasant and healthy.

Leo Tolstoy said: “I don’t understand how someone can pass by a tree and not be happy to see it.” Well, in Logroño there are thousands of reasons to be happy. And this year, the green areas, the parks, the roundabouts, once again shine in all their splendor after a few years of inappropriate care and a certain degree of neglect. And I say this without acrimony, the difference is simply very noticeable. The green spaces of a city are not natural, they are created by humans and therefore cannot be abandoned, they require care that a forest that has been accompanying us for centuries and, so to speak, “knows how to take care of itself” will not need. My wish is that this not only does not change, but that it improves day by day and not only due to the efforts of the workers who take care of our green treasure but also of all the citizens of Logroño, who must get involved in its care and be aware of the importance what it has to make our lives healthier and more beautiful.
