Production begins with the Women of Steel program in Guaymallén: Mendoza Government Press

This initiative takes shape after the signing of a joint agreement with the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of Mendoza (Asinmet) and the Municipality of Guaymallén to convene residents of the department.

The Ministry of Economy, through the Undersecretariat of Employment and Training, calls on residents of Guaymallén who are between 18 and 55 years old and who seek to train as welders to enter the industrial labor field to join the third edition of the Women Program of steel.

The course begins on June 24, will last six months and will be divided into five modules, with practical and theoretical classes that will be taken at the Asinmet headquarters, located at Lateral Norte Acceso Este 868, Guaymallén. There will be two course options: Monday and Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. or Tuesday and Friday from 8 to 1 p.m.

Among the main requirements, participants must reside in Guaymallén and have completed secondary school, availability of hours and, if possible, minimal technical knowledge in welding (it is not exclusive), and a vaccination card with a tetanus vaccine.

Graduates of the welding training program are trained to have the necessary foundations to develop professionally in a workshop or companies in the metallurgical or metalworking sector.

The evaluation methodology is carried out through partial and integrative practical activities. The modules are correlative and have particular evaluation instances. That is to say that to advance from one module to another it is necessary to pass the previous one. The requirements for program accreditation are to have 70% attendance per module and pass the evaluations of the five modules.

For more information, interested parties should contact the Economic Development Directorate, Godoy Cruz 1240, second floor, San José, Guaymallén, or call 261 2082941 or 261 2645122.
