The news is important since this edition seeks to bring back all the glory of previous editions, with feature films and short films in competition, workshops and masterclasses, and it is expected that more than 400 films will be seen, participating in most of the countries of the continent. .

Organized by Punto Audiovisual, an organization dependent on the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Municipality, the announcement was made at the end of May, and some names of guests were already known, which will feature luxury jurors such as Néstor Frenkel, Andrés Di Tella, Pablo Ratto, Mercedes Gaviria and Fernanda Otero.

The director of the festival and member of Punto Audiovisual, Valeria Boggino, spoke with Mirador about the work being done for the return of the festival in its splendor: “The filmmakers and the people of Rosario deserved this return, and we are very happy to be able to organize it. “We have been working for months, and we continue on the path of defining the films and the guests, after a year of recess.”

Among the advances, Boggino explained that “there will be a forum that will be the meeting for the audiovisual sector itself to reflect on these times; as well as talks, masterclasses and workshops. At some point in this edition we will pay tribute to Mario Piazza. And the premiere of Gustavo Postiglione’s latest film, “Singapore”, starring Julieta Cardinali.”

The four competing categories are: Latin American Feature Film Competition, Santa Fe Feature Film Competition, Latin American Short Film Competition and Rosarino Short Film Competition.

The festival has been held since 1994, and had its twists and turns: it was held continuously every year, except for 1996 and last year. In 2020, a special edition was made remotely with some productions, and that is why it did not have an edition number. Then in 2021 and 2022 it returned to its presence, but this year it returns with the glory of the good old days.
