Shortly before 7 p.m. this Monday, the formalization hearing was held with the presence of the three detainees suspected of committing a rape on the Costanera. The magistrate ordered that the three men must face a lineup and a DNA test.
The guarantee judge, María Gema Moreno, presided over the hearing in which the three detainees who are suspected of approaching a couple who were parked in the car in the Costanera area last Thursday appeared.
The magistrate ordered that the three men undergo a lineup in which the victims will be able to see them along with other men and determine if they actually recognize them as their attackers. Because the three detainees must be seen by the victims, the Justice ordered that they cannot be photographed by the media before recognition.
Added to this is that they will be subjected to a DNA test, which means that after the attack on the woman, genetic traces remained that could link one of these men to the attack that the girl suffered.
This incident of rape occurred around two in the morning last Thursday, a young couple arrived at an unpaved street located behind the Costanera fairgrounds. The two were sharing an intimate moment when they were approached by two men who threatened them with a knife and forced them to take off their clothes, stole their cell phones and money, and sexually attacked the 20-year-old woman.
