Coto Córdoba Basketball outlines the renewal of its Córdoba trio

The Coto Córdoba Basketball Club has already set its sights on the next season in terms of sports planning. Once the promotion to the Second FEB – new name of the old LEB Plata – has been assimilated, the Córdoba basketball entity has begun its first moves with a view to the 24-25 campaign.

To begin with, the renewal of the coach, Alfredo Gálvez, has been completed. He has now begun to contact the players from the 23-24 season squad whom he wishes to renew.

The entity chaired by José Palacios has contacted the three Cordobans from the previous squad (Lucas Muñoz, Gonzalo Orozco and Antonio Bioque) to offer them renewal. The agreement is almost total between the two parties, so the continuity of the three players is taken for granted.

A decisive game director

Point guard Lucas Muñoz was one of the key players in the successful campaign that ended with promotion to the third national category. Like his team, the Rambleño’s performance grew as the months went by. Decisive was the victory in the derby against UCB last January, a match in which he played limping due to a sprained ankle, but in which he gave his team a plus, ultimately key to that victory. Throughout the campaign he averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 assists and 10.6 efficiency in 24 minutes.

A player in progress

Shooting guard Gonzalo Orozco needed a few games to adapt to a category in which he ended up performing at an excellent level. His ability to play as a point guard or shooting guard gave him added value within the squad. He contributed 6.1 points, 2.1 assists and a PIR of 7.4 in 23 minutes to Coto Córdoba.

A fit shooter

Shooting guard Antonio Bioque arrived at the Córdoba club in December from Morón of LEB Plata. The Carpeño is a shooter and he demonstrated it over the months, as he scored transcendent triples in key games. He finished the season with an average of 6.4 points and a rating of 4.3 in 14 minutes.
