More than 43,000 vehicles do not have a valid ITV in the province of CórdobaCORDOVA
43,651 vehicles They do not have the ITV (Technical Vehicle Inspection) in force in the province of Córdoba, according to data collected by Informes Mecánicos, a company specialized in expert reports. Of the total number of vehicles without ITV in the province, 18,194 are passenger cars, 11,163 are motorcycles and 14,294 are part of other categories such as vans, trucks or mopeds. A new analysis of Mechanical Reports has reviewed the microdata offered by the General direction of traffic (DGT) to find out what the park is like vehicles without MOT in force in the province of Córdoba.
The figures presented correspond to those vehicles that, being less than 25 years old since their registration, They do not have the ITV in force or their administrative withdrawal has not been processed. They include vehicles that are circulating without having passed the MOT and also those that could be disused or abandoned.
The comparison of these data with the total number of vehicles less than 25 years old shows that the 8.3% of the park does not have the ITV in force in the province of Córdoba. This figure is 5.1% in the case of passenger cars, 22.2% in the case of motorcycles and 12.1% in the rest of the vehicles.
The ITV guarantees safety
The general director of Mechanical Reports, Sergio Arboledasexplained that “some drivers think that the Technical Vehicle Inspection is a collection procedure. However, the reality is that passing the ITV significantly reduces the risk of having an accident and improves safety on the roads. It is, therefore, a guarantee for the driver and the rest of the vehicles with which it shares the road”.
The Córdoba towns with the most vehicles without the ITV in force are Cordovawith 15,325 vehicles; Lucenawith 3,074, and Genil Bridgewith 1,671.
At the regional levelIn Andalusia there are 594,643 vehicles that do not have the ITV in force, of which 272,681 are passenger cars, 153,942 are motorcycles and 168,020 belong to other categories.
10.3% of the vehicle fleet in Andalusia does not have the ITV in force: this figure is 7% in passenger cars, 23.5% in motorcycles and 13.8% in other vehicles.

Communities with more vehicles without ITV
Balearics (16.7%), Valencian Community (12.3%) and Catalonia (11%) are the three communities with the highest total percentage of vehicles that do not have the ITV in force or that have not processed the administrative deregistration. The autonomous cities of Melilla (20.5%) and Ceuta (16.4%) also register some of the highest percentages.
On the other hand, communities with a lower percentage of vehicles in this circumstance are Madrid (7.1%), Navarre (7.5%) and The Rioja (7.5%).
As for specific cities, the capital of Spain leads the numbers of vehicles that do not have the ITV in force, with more than 147,000. They are followed by the cities of Barcelona, with more than 76,000, and Palma de Mallorca, with more than 49,000.
