A public official from the Municipality of General Rodríguez, in the western area of AMBA, was involved in a shameful episode this weekend after crashing into a vehicle while intoxicated, injuring a person and trying to evade the control of traffic agents.
The incident occurred last Sunday, when Paola Szchur, undersecretary of Community Development of the municipality, rammed a van in which five people were traveling and destroyed her own car. The moment after the accident was recorded by a local journalist, who shared the images with the local media. LP News.
In the video You can see the official clearly drunk and having difficulty speaking, although she manages to try to “bribe” the traffic officer who performed the breathalyzer test on her.
“We can avoid it,” he suggests, but the officer assures him that he cannot skip the test “because there was an incident” with his car. “Well, but it’s just my car”, he points out without recording that, in addition to damaging his own vehicle, he rammed a truck on the road.
“Listen to me, we can avoid it, right? Come on, idiot, come on. Do you know who I am? Do you know that you don’t? No?”, he answers, laughing, and then tries to evade the control by purposely making a mistake when executing the test. After several failed attempts, the result finally appears: 3.21 mg of alcohol in blood. In the province, the law establishes zero tolerance for vehicle drivers.
The official works as Undersecretary of Community Development, headed by Mariana Balbi, in the Municipality of General Rodríguez, headed by Mayor Mauro García.
As reconstructed by the local media LP! from General Rodríguez, the episode occurred minutes before midnight. The drunk driver aboard a white Chevrolet Corsa crossed lanes and hit the truck, injuring one person.
After confirming her state of intoxication, the official tried to delay the process again inside her own vehicle. Then a police officer took her to the patrol car to transport her.
The incident occurred on Route 7, between Juan de Garay and Manuela Maison streets, in the Parque Irigoyen neighborhood. The woman was driving in the direction of Luján, when she collided with a gray Chevrolet Blazer vehicle.
A SAME ambulance had to assist one of the passengers traveling in the Blazer. Meanwhile, beyond the state of intoxication, Szchur did not suffer injuries.
Later, the owner of the truck that was hit, Juan Ortíz, recounted the event: “You couldn’t talk to the lady because she was drunk. I didn’t want to get close because it was going to be to argue, I didn’t want to renege. It seemed to me that he didn’t realize he had crashed”.
Furthermore, he explained that he was driving on his way to Pilar, after a day of work in Lobos: “We are dedicated to loading and unloading birds. We had boxes of chicken in the trailer, which was destroyed. “Now we have to repair the truck and trailer so we can get back to work.”
One of his companions, who ended up injured, must continue to receive treatment at the Vicente López Hospital to recover.
