Within the framework of the program of activities for the 37th anniversary of the creation of the “Barón Carlos María Schuel” Municipal Botanical Park, dependent on the Secretariat of Planning and Environment, an informative talk was held on morphology and biological and ecological aspects of arthropods. by biologist Verónica Cecilia Hamity and Dr. Graciela Cecilia Gómez, both from UNJu. The dissertation took place in the Interpretation Room of the Botanical Park, with the participation of technicians from the municipal reserve, students and interested parties.
On the occasion, Marcela Gaspar, administrator of the Park, said that “during this week, which is the week of the 37th anniversary of the Botanical Park, we have organized a series of activities jointly with the UNJU inviting specialists to give a talk, a explanation about the biological importance of arthropods, for the general public and especially for biology students and those who are interested in the subject.”
Likewise, he highlighted the collaboration of the house of higher studies, because “it is always collaborating with the Park, coming, giving talks and they donated entomological boxes, which we have displayed to visitors.”
Meanwhile, Hamity explained that they were given “an introduction to the knowledge of arthropods, what their characteristics are to recognize them, know their importance and also, more or less, the morphology and the importance of all aspects, for both nature and man.”
Finally, Gómez expressed that, “the National University of Jujuy has already been working together with the municipality and on this occasion, we received the invitation to give this talk about arthropods, fundamentally the arthropods of the province and present this information that is in the banners and in the entomological boxes that the university has donated.”-
