A book collects the history and legacy of the Royal Schools of La InmaculadaCORDOVA

The Andalusian Film Archive was the setting this Tuesday for the book presentation A Legacy of Light: The Foundation of the Royal Schools of La Inmaculada in Cordovaa work that tells the rich history and legacy of one of the oldest educational institutions in Spain. The author, Giuseppe Palmieri, professor at Colegio Reales Escuelas La Inmaculada, has been in charge of revealing the details of this new publication before an auditorium full of students, teachers and prominent figures in the educational field.

During the event, Juan José Primo Jurado, director of the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage of the Junta de Andalucía, has taken the floor to highlight the historical relevance and prestige of the Royal Schools of La Inmaculada. “This educational center has been and continues to be a reference in the educationnot only in Córdoba but nationwide, thanks to its long tradition and academic excellence,” Primo Jurado stressed.

Next, Jesus Poyatopatron of the La Inmaculada Royal Schools, has highlighted the joint work between the school and the Santos Mártires Diocesan Foundation, which has allowed us to carry out initiatives as important as the presentation of this book.

For his part, the school director, Enrique Muñozhas expressed his pride in the event, calling it a “milestone in the history of education in Córdoba and Spain.” Muñoz emphasized that the Royal Schools of La Inmaculada stand out for their ability to combine tradition and avant-garde, and thanked everyone present for their support and participation in this significant event.

Adapt the story for a young audience

Finally, Giuseppe Palmieri has shared his motivation for writing A Legacy of Lighta continuation of the work carried out between 2020 and 2021 to the documentary1553-2021: From the College of Santa Catalina of the Company of Jesus to the Royal Schools of the Immaculate Conception. Palmieri has explained that his objective is to adaptr the history of the institution for a young audiencepreserving and transmitting the values ​​and legacy that have characterized the school since its beginnings as the Colegio de Santa Catalina.

Finally, the deputy director of the Santos Mártires Diocesan Foundation, Rocio Asensiohas also intervened to congratulate the author, the center’s management, the students and the faculty for the success of the event and for their contribution to keeping the history and values ​​of this emblematic educational institution alive.
