The National Registry of Civil Status held an identification day in the town of Apure, municipality of Plato, Magdalena. This event was aimed at families affected by the recent floods caused by heavy rains.

The emergency left many families without their identity documents, making it imperative for the Registry to intervene to reestablish this fundamental right. During the three-day event, more than 500 identity document procedures were carried out, including citizenship cards, identity cards and copies of birth certificates.

The National Registry Office highlighted the speed with which it assisted those affected, allowing them to recover their documents and thus restore their access to state services.

“We continue to reach the most remote corners of the department of Magdalena, responding to the call of the institutions and the communities, to guarantee access to identification for all Magdalena residents,” said the National Registry, reaffirming its commitment to comprehensive care for the needs of the affected population.

This initiative not only facilitated the identification of vulnerable families, but also provided them with a significant advantage to begin the process of rebuilding the community of Apure, Magdalena.
