How a senator from Córdoba who was traveling to debate it reacted

After the surprise assembly held by the Aerolíneas Argentinas workers This Tuesday in airports across the country due to the dismissal of a worker, not only did the indignation of thousands of passengers who were stranded at the different stations begin to be reflected.

Other very particular situations also began to arise and in this case they have to do with the treatment of the “base law” in the Senate. Many of the legislators who will give the debate this Wednesday had planned to travel from their provinces to Buenos Aires in the time slot where the force measure was carried out and in which some flights were rescheduled for tomorrow.

In this context, the PRO senator from Córdoba, Carmen Álvarez Rivero, shared on social networks the decision she made to arrive on time, given the difficulties that arose at the Ambrosio Taravella airport. The thing is that in principle, it was announced that the measure was for an indefinite period, but then the activity was resumed.

Rivero had planned to travel first thing in the morning and given the uncertainty of whether he would be able to fly or not, he decided to make the trip by land.

“Traveling by car to Buenos Aires. An Assembly of Argentine Airlines cannot stop us,” the legislator posted on her networks and accompanied the message with a photo in which she is seen in a car on the road, with her cell phone and glasses in her hand.

Álvarez Rivero, who is president of the Labor and Social Security Commission of the Senate, was one of the legislators who accompanied the project of the Government of Javier Milei with his signature. “The ruling of the Bases Law in the Senate is a victory for all Argentines committed to the freedom and future of our nation,” she posted on her X account on May 29.

During the discussion in the plenary session of committees, the senator was very critical of the changes that the opposition managed to impose on the text that had arrived with half the approval of Deputies. “All of these modifications are defeats,” she said.

The post coincides with the Government’s negotiations against the clock to obtain the necessary votes to approve the “base law” on Wednesday, and one of the points being analyzed is to remove Aerolíneas Argentinas from the chapter of privatizable companies, something that would allow it to unlock some support that can end up being decisive.

Check flight status

In the early hours of Tuesday, three flights to Aeroparque were delayed.

An arrival from the same air terminal was also delayed.

Around 9 o’clock it was announced that the affected flights would be rescheduled.

Later, shortly before 11, the workers lifted the force measure and the passengers carried out procedures to reschedule their flights.
