A university delegation from the United States, made up of six students and a professor, visited the University of Sancti Spiritus José Martí Pérez (UNISS) for two days, as part of the Summer Course proposals and the demands made in the context of the International University Event 2024.
The meeting allowed the exchange with the university community, as part of the program that was initiated by the Sancti Spiritus house of higher studies and that also includes the universities of Matanza, Artemisa and Pinar del Rio, according to the professor from the University of Cienfuegos, director of the activity, Dictinio Díaz González, leading the delegation.
“In each place they will chat with students and teachers, receive conferences, talks and also exchange in different communities, which in the end will receive three credits for their student endorsement with this course,” he summarized.
Student Alexandra Rachelle Batista Bazil said she felt motivated by what she experienced at the Sancti Spiritus university, based on everything that is done in favor of the performance of women in today’s society, everything gained in gender equality.
At the UNISS, visitors received a conference on “The role of women in current Cuban society”, by Ms.C Ángela Valdés Quesada, and The role of women in the conservation of Sancti Spiritus cultural heritage and traditions.
The delegation of students from American universities who visited Sancti Spiritus learned about the benefits offered by the University Wellness Center of the house of higher studies, where experiences of traditional dances, singing, music and Sancti Spiritus art were presented, starring young university students.
