The agreement between the City and the Pastoral to address poverty

“The objective is to find together alternative solutions to the problems of people living on the streets that are increased by the prevailing social situation“, they highlighted from the Social Pastoral.

At that meeting, the “imperative need to strategically manage an action plan”said Elena Castro, secretary of the Pastoral Ministry.

“Reliable and up-to-date data is required. Without this common survey it is not possible to determine where the challenges are., how to plan and how to monitor and evaluate to see the impact of actions. By specifying these lines of action we generate trust, an essential value in a proposal of these characteristics,” he warned.

Thus, at this meeting they agreed:

  • Maintain fluid communication to capture and execute what is projected as a metropolitan strategy, incorporating the mayors of Greater Mendoza into this work table.
  • Write a “Roadmap” that reflects the guidelines to be specified.
  • Carry out a survey of homeless people, especially the age group between 50 and 65 years old.
  • Establish a comprehensive approach protocol.
  • Manage with the Argentine Army a space intended as a refuge for these vulnerable people.

Meanwhile, periodic meetings were established.
